Zurich apartments aren't all the same. A 3.5-Zimmer Altbau flat with original parquet and stucco ceilings needs a different rhythm than a Neubau flat with tiled floors and floor-to-ceiling windows, we adjust to both. In older buildings, we go easy on the parquet; in newer ones, we focus on smudge-free glass and induction stovetops. Regular Cleaning Across Zurich's Districts and Building Types
Zurich isn't one type of apartment, and regular cleaning shouldn't pretend it is. In Wiedikon, including Friesenberg, most of what we clean is Altbau: original parquet, stucco ceilings, tall casement windows that collect dust along the frames. Genossenschaft flats in Wiedikon and Höngg, including Wipkingen, usually come with a stricter Hausordnung and neighbors who notice stairwell noise, so we skip heavy fragrances and time visits carefully. Lake-facing flats in Wollishofen and Seefeld get more Bise dust through tilted windows in spring. Tram-facing apartments along Bahnhofstrasse in the Altstadt, or near Bahnhof Oerlikon, collect a fine layer of brake dust on the sills that a quick wipe misses.
